Five years ago, there was no doubt that the Internet would replace the television completely. Or that the printed book would be left on the shelf. However, television consumption and book sales have only increased during the last five years.
Our ability to absorb media is apparently unlimited. Thus, traditional media might still have a future. As the demand for flowing and immediate media increases, so does the need for background and analysis. As a story spreads like wildfire on Twitter, so does the need for verification and coherence. You could say that new media has caused the rebirth of traditional media.
