Democracy

Democracy is, for many, the least poor form of political governance. But the dictatorship of the majority is not as well suited to a thought enterprise as ours. Instead of simple majority, we salute the enlightened principle. In other words, the best argument wins. Even if it is not your own. It sounds difficult, but is smoothed by the rule that if something has been discussed three times without reaching agreement, it cannot be discussed any more.
