Deadlines.
Deadlines are designed to be kept. Don’t ever give “fake” deadlines to your colleagues, but respect them for what they are: a tool to enable solving tasks on time. And a tool to control processes with many people involved. It’s the responsibility of the project managers that deadlines are kept, but it’s a task for all of us.
